Al Fujairah makes up the United Arab Emirates and is the only one on the Gulf of Oman in the contry's east instead or Arabian Gulf as the other six Emirates. In 1902, Al Fujairah accepted a British protectorate, becoming the last of the emirates to join the Trucial States.   On December 2nd, 1971 Al Fujairah joined the United Arab Emirates.
